Single Pass Honing Machine - SP 650SP 650 is a six spindle machine designed for high accuracy and Higher productivity of components of bore dia up to 50 mm and material stock removal upto 0.080-0.100 mm. For stock removal of 0.040 mm, two components can be produced per cycle.

The Process

              Single Pass honing process, as the name indicates, is just passing the honing tool once in the bore. The tools are barrel-shaped and pre-set with consecutively increasing size. The tool is passed through the bore while it is rotating. Conventional honing tool reciprocates, expands while honing and retracts after completion of cycle. While single pass honing tool is pre-set for size, it does not have to expand and retract during cycle. The consistency of bore size is ensured by the pre-set, slow-wearing diamond coated tool.
              Applying single pass diamond abrasive bore honing technology, extremely close tolerances can be achieved consistently in mass production at a lesser per piece cost. Diamond-plated finishing tools are capable of achieving micron/sub micron accuracy.
